BioXplorer 100 | bench-top, parallel 8 bioreactor platform

The BioXplorer 100 is a multi-bioreactor system designed for the optimization of aerobic fermentations. With a working volume as low as 50 ml,  the BioXplorer 100 allows for low-working volume processes. The design of the bioreactor’s lid enables customizable configurations, choosing from a wide range of probes and feeds. Controlled by WinISO, BioXplorer is designed to be a fully automatized system.

Overview

Customizable configurations

The BioXplorer 100 features 8 configurable bioreactors, allowing working volumes ranging from 50-150ml.  The reactors can be controlled independently or in parallel with a range of probe/sensor configurations available.  The system’s modular design allows precise additions of liquids and gases, controlled by up to four sets of eight peristaltic pumps and up to two sets of mass flow controllers.

Optimized solutions for a range of applications

The BioXplorer 100 is optimized for aerobic fermentation and optimal growth. The highly configurable system allows more in-depth process insights and comprehensive data, enabling you to understand your processes better. A huge advantage of the BioXplorer 100 is the increased productivity from the eight parallel reactors, as they simultaneously allow the screening and high throughput of multiple processes.  Paired with WinISO, data acquisition in real-time can be used for monitoring the fermentation, and processes can be controlled live through the design of feedback loops.

Flexibility and control

BioXplorer 100 is equipped with a highly customizable range of sensors optimized for the process, allowing for the acquisition of high-throughput data in real-time. BioXplorer 100 is controlled by H.E.L’s WinISO, allowing for strict control of the parameters of the bioprocess. The automatization of processes based on on-line measurements allows for response to changes in the bioreactor through feedback loops.

Compact Parallel Bioreactors

Space and cost-efficient, the BioXplorer 100’s small bioreactors allow up to eight parallel bioprocesses to be run in a system with a small overall footprint. In contrast, the system’s low working volume (50 – 150 ml) minimizes reagent costs and fermentation times.  Although small in size, the bioreactors have been designed to be easy to use and for flexibility in sensor configuration to allow real-time data collection in real bioreactor settings.  The BioXplorer 100 offers an intelligent solution to overcome bioprocessing challenges.

Flexibility & Control

The wide range of probes available with the BioXplorer 400 enables the monitoring of critical parameters for the bioprocess for in-depth characterization. The responsiveness of WinISO allows for the fine control of critical parameters in fermentation through the implementation of automated feedback loops.

BioXplorer 400 is an incredible tool for the characterization and optimization of processes. The customizable configuration of the bioreactors allows for the careful selection of the parameters to track during the fermentation. With a choice of agitation, either magnetic or overhead, which enables a wider range of impellor speeds, allowing cultivation of shear sensitive cells at lower speeds. Higher impellor speeds increase gas transfer for increased cell densities or product yields.

BioXplorer 400P | High-pressure bench-top, parallel 4 bioreactor platform

The BioXplorer 400P is an automated parallel pressure bioreactor system for the discovery and optimization of novel bioprocesses. Designed for applications ranging from syngas fermentation to cell-free enzymatically catalyzed processes, the BioXplorer 400P uses pressure and precision gas control to accelerate bioprocesses, which depend on the availability of dissolved gases.

The customizable configuration combined with versatile software allows the BioXplorer 400P to fulfill your precise needs, giving you the data you need to scale up faster.

Overview

Pressurized Bioprocessing

The BioXplorer 400P’s ability to run up to four parallel bioprocesses at up to 10 bar pressure is unique. More and more bioprocess scientists are turning to pressurized systems to increase the availability of dissolved gases and accelerate gas-dependent bioprocesses. The BioXplorer 400P is an indispensable tool for the optimization and scale-up of such processes. The system has been engineered with a focus on safety and ease of use. For example, the use of 2 gas spargers per reactor enables risks associated with potentially hazardous gas mixtures to be minimized. Adding pressure to accelerate your bioprocesses can deliver higher yields without compromising functionality and configurability.

Configurable System

The BioXplorer 400P uses a modular design and can be supplied with a wide range of probes, gas feeds, and liquid feeds, enabling it to be tailored to your precise needs. This maximizes functionality and ease of use while minimizing bench space requirements and cost.

Flexibility to optimize processes

The choice of probes to track the wide range of physicochemical parameters in bioprocess provides in-depth knowledge. Using H.E.L’s WinISO tight control and responsiveness, automatization of the process is possible. BioXplorer 400P can operate 4 bioreactors in parallel or independently, reducing the optimization time of bioprocesses.
